Impeccably Imperfect – An Ode to Primary Colours

Welcome to Impeccably Imperfect, a thoughtful curation of my favourite Vinted finds.
Two weeks ago, I shared my obsession with Vinted on Instagram. I love dressing my kids in secondhand clothes from head to toe — but honestly, they have enough now. Still, I can’t stop browsing for beautiful pieces! You were incredibly enthusiastic and snapped up many of the gems I shared.

I asked for your feedback in a poll, and alongside all the encouraging yes! responses, a few of you suggested I create a subscription to share my weekly secondhand finds. Although I’m not sure exactly where this will lead Coffee and Lullabies, I do know I want to keep growing this world of offbeat family guides, secondhand fashion, and — though it might seem contradictory — sustainability.

The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters, yet we all need to get dressed. I want to live as sustainably as possible, but I also love doing it in style.

Let’s buy less. Let’s avoid fast fashion. Let’s choose natural fibers over plastic clothing — especially for our children. Let’s buy with love and conscience: preferably secondhand, and if not, then from small, independent brands.

I hope this weekly curation can inspire you and contribute a little to a more beautiful, mindful wardrobe.

Good to know

  • Items can be sold already
  • I mention the actual size, which might not be the ‘wearing’ size. I love French brands and they usually size small. If you want to be sure, ask the seller!
  • Vinted is all about making good deals! I mention the asking price, but you should make an offer. You can see how much interest there is for an item. Think smart!
  • Always check what other items a buyer has. Maybe they have more in the size of your kid. Bundles are cheaper and more sustainable.
  • Sometimes, I add a product that is new, because I want to support a sustainable/ small brand.
  • For the most sustainable choice, try to buy from within your own country.

An ode to Primary Colours

I love primary colours. Regarding styling, I like to add a primary colour to otherwise ‘fuzzy’ outfits. (Like here: the red shoes. But even here. This room works because of the yellow light and the yellow clothing shelves. Otherwise the pink and lilc tones would be way too much!).

My girls LOVE princess dresses, pink, pastels and flower prints, but when I add a touch of yellow, red or blue, it instantly becomes modern and good.

My Favourite Finds this Week

This list could be never ending, but I only have so much time. I’d love to hear your feedback. Are there items you are missing? Should I add more basics or just the eye catchers? Obviously for now I’m sharing the more special pieces.

My favourite Bonton print! Very bad photo, really doesn’t do right to the piece. Same as this one. Someone get it! Otherwise I will have to…

This brand is not anymore, but it was SO good. Their floral prints are amazing. I love combining different (flower) prints. This one would fit so well.

This brand is incredible, and the seller knows it. (she has a lot of good things) If you look for the perfect special occasion dress: here it is.

I love these Poudre Organic blouses because they are soft and protect arms against the sun.

One of my favourite brands. Sustainably made, but insanely expensive. They stopped making clothes, but they still make furniture. Sizes very small!

Size 4 yrs – €20

I posted this one last week, in light blue and I bought it myself. (But there still is one if you regret. It’s so good.) This black and white one is probably 2 – 4 years. (Lila is 5 years and wears 8 yrs. Oversized looks fine!)
