Impeccably Imperfect – 5 Days in Paris

Le Ballon Rouge
Welcome to Impeccably Imperfect, a thoughtful curation of my favourite Vinted finds. This week I’m sharing my packing list for 5 days in Paris and offer alternatives on Vinted.

This Friday Lila and I leave Rotterdam for 5 days of Paris! I am finishing up the Coffee and Lullabies Paris Guide and we are going to do some final discoveries and mood photography. We will be together with my friend Julia and her daughter and I can’t wait to leave! (Although I’m also slightly worried about missing Ima! I have only once spend one night aways from home… )

The Paris guide is for families as well as for people who like to discover Paris’ offbeat routes and a slower, more local view of Paris. (Although people are never really slow in Paris of course)

Great coffee places – with preferably a space for kids to run – easy but good restaurants, small or kid proof museums, a gallery route and of course the best shops.

A fraction of places to visit and places that I love already <3

Good to know

  • Items can be sold already
  • I mention the actual size, which might not be the ‘wearing’ size. I love French brands and they usually size small. If you want to be sure, ask the seller!
  • Vinted is all about making good deals! I mention the asking price, but you should make an offer. You can see how much interest there is for an item and for how long it has been online. Think smart!
  • Always check what other items a buyer has. Maybe they have more in the size of your kid. Bundles are cheaper and more sustainable.
  • Sometimes, I add a product that is new, because I want to support a sustainable/ small brand.
  • For the most sustainable choice, try to buy from within your own country.
Primary colours in colourless streets
I will bring this dress as well as the scooter. This was last spring. The scooter was perfect!

My Packing List for 5 Days of Paris

I love clothes and outfits, but I love travelling light even more. Therefore I like to pack sets of clothes that are easy to combine. I’m really into primary colours for Lila somehow. (Ima wears more flower prints and softer colours. Weird?) And primary colours easily combine. Lots of shades of blue, my favourite green and of course those bright red Salt Water Sandals!

I made lots of packing lists for the Tokyo guide. Super useful! I use them for this trip too, even though I’ll only bring a fraction of what I take on a 3-5 weeks trip of course. These lists are for long breaks with lots of travelling. If you are interested: they are perfect for hot summer destinations!

My packing list for Paris!
Many strong colours, because good on the photo’s with beige brick houses in the background. All Vinted except for one trousers from La Gentile and the Salt Water Sandals.

For this 5 day trip I bring:

  • Light coat
  • Sweater
  • 2 dresses
  • 2 t-shirts
  • Long trousers
  • Adorable onesie
  • 2 pairs of shoes (probably both sandals, maybe one pair of sneakers)
  • Hat
  • 3 pairs of socks
  • 5 undies

Surviving a long train ride and trip…

First of all: how to get there without too much trouble. I’ve travelled a lot with both girls. Long flights and train rides.

I recommend reading about travel toys for ALL AGES especially if you have any long trip coming up! Here I’m just sharing what I bring for my 5 – years old on this long weekend trip. The train is only 2.5 hours, but after a week of school I want to come prepared. I prefer no screen time over screen time, this is how I do it.

Yoto Player

I don’t go anywhere without our Yoto player anymore. Last time when we went on a trip I couldn’t find it and I panicked. I’ve bought this for our trip to Japan when Lila was three years old and she used it all day long. It’s not only entertainment. It’s also something she has total control over. For some kids that’s more important than for others.

Card recommendation BY AGE here!

LEGO Creator 3-1

Lately Lila has been into Lego creating space ships and flying gardens. We have lots of LEGO, but without instruction books.

She enjoys free styling and I like it too, but I’d also like her to learn new skills. Good for the train!

Maileg

These are so cute and easy to bring. We have a family and I’ll prepare Papa Mouse and Small Sister to bring on the trip. Ima, at home, will get Big Sister and Mama Mouse because we are leaving.

Kids care

Naief Suncreen

We bring lots of sunscreen! I like these roller and in the Netherlands we have lots of good deals for this one. My kids also easily develops eczema; also from some organic brands, but this one doesn’t give any rashes.

Wild Cosmetics

I love this brand! All of the products are reusable and the lip balm is made with only natural ingredients.

Scooter

Foldable, light and super convenient in Paris. I hate public transport and love walking, but what can you expect of a 5-year old? Last time she crossed whole Paris riding her scooter and I’ve never had her sleep so well.

If you found a great item or if you are inspired and you’d like to support the time, love, and late-night laptop hours that go into this, there are a few things you can do.

You can share this subscription with friends who like to dress their kids impeccably imperfect and sustainably. Help me grow this community!
